Consumer Attorneys of California
Fair Debt Collections Act
The webinar will cover the basic substantive rights given to consumer debtors, in the debt collection context, pursuant to this Federal Act. It will discuss the standard used by Courts to analyze a violation, specifically the strict nature of the statute and the fact that violations are perceived through the eyes of the least sophisticated debtor. Using this initial point of analysis, along with case law, the webinar will explore the most common violations and limited defenses seen throughout the nation within the context of the FDCPA.Expand summary
