Summary

This webinar focuses on when insurance companies rescind an insurance policy (e.g. life insurance, health insurance etc.). Rescission makes it as if the insurance policy/contract never existed and is used so the insurance company can avoid liability. Generally, Insurance companies try to find an issue with the insured’s application (e.g. a misstatement or misrepresentation). The issue is becoming more and more prevalent. Learn how to deal with the situation when it arises, such as the burdens of proof, possible statutory language, estoppel or waiver arguments, etc.
